چکیده
With increasingly frequent extreme weather events, lodging has become an important limiting factor for crop yield and quality mechanical harvesting. Lodging resistance is a precondition “super high yield” crops, the question of how to achieve guarantee urgent scientific problem. Here, we summarize anatomical results stems find that closely related stem components. Therefore, focus on roles lignin, cellulose hemicellulose, which provide rigidity strength, in resistance. By combing synthetic regulatory molecular network only some genes involved biosynthesis regulation cellulose, hemicellulose have been shown significantly affect However, many relevant remain be studied sufficient detail determine whether they can applied breeding This work provides valuable information future studies

A new method for assessing plant lodging and the impact of management options on lodging in canola crop production
Lodging, defined as the permanent displacement of aboveground parts, is a common problem to cause yield loss, deterioration in seed quality and difficult to harvest in canola (Brassica napus L.) crop production. This study aimed to develop a method for assessing crop lodging, to examine how agronomic practices affected the relationships between root lodging and electrical capacitance traits. Ca...
متن کاملIncreased lodging resistance in long-culm, low-lignin gh2 rice for improved feed and bioenergy production
Lignin modification has been a breeding target for the improvements of forage digestibility and energy yields in forage and bioenergy crops, but decreased lignin levels are often accompanied by reduced lodging resistance. The rice mutant gold hull and internode2 (gh2) has been identified to be lignin deficient. GH2 has been mapped to the short arm of chromosome 2 and encodes cinnamyl-alcohol de...
متن کاملManipulation of lignin metabolism by plant densities and its relationship with lodging resistance in wheat
Increasing plant density is one of the most efficient ways of increasing wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) grain production. However, overly dense plant populations have an increased risk of lodging. We examined lignin deposition during wheat stem development and the regulatory effects of plant density using the wheat cultivars shannong23 and weimai8. Plants were cultivated at densities of 75, 225 a...
متن کاملCellulose–Hemicellulose and Cellulose–Lignin Interactions during Fast Pyrolysis
Previously, the primary product distribution resulting from fast pyrolysis of cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin was quantified. This study extends the analysis to the examinations of interactions between cellulose−hemicellulose and cellulose−lignin, which were determined by comparing the pyrolysis products from their native mixture, physical mixture, and superposition of individual component...
متن کاملAcid detergent lignin, lodging resistance index, and expression of the caffeic acid O-methyltransferase gene in brown midrib-12 sudangrass
Understanding the relationship between acid detergent lignin (ADL) and lodging resistance index (LRI) is essential for breeding new varieties of brown midrib (bmr) sudangrass (Sorghum sudanense (Piper) Stapf.). In this study, bmr-12 near isogenic lines and their wild-types obtained by back cross breeding were used to compare relevant forage yield and quality traits, and to analyze expression of...
